As part of the International Literature Festival Krusa Laman 2012 - Writers Unlimited Curaçao, with the theme Power of memory, two authors visited the Skol Avansá Integrá (SKAI) on April 19, 2012.
These two authors were Rodaan Al Galidi (Iraq/Holland) and Cathleen Giterson (Curaçao).
Prior to this author's visit, the students were given a workshop by mrs. Elodie Heloise on the topic of Power of memory to prepare the students for the visit of the authors.
This was on April 3, 2012. The students had to say what they would put in a suitcase that will open in 100 years.
Thursday, April 19, the author Rodaan Al Galidi told the students of class 3 about his work, his history, his language and he also recited some poems and had students recite his poems.
After the break, it was the turn of writer Cathleen Giterson, who recited poems with the help of her tambú. She told the students how she had dedicated her mind to writing, and she did a memory exercise with the students that ended up becoming a story based on a few words that they had to think about as a group.
At the end Cathleen will raffle three copies of her work Djis un Pensamentu. Kolekshon di poesia i prosa poétiko. Tomo I.
This morning was very pleasant.
